Alex's canon includes the following:
°drug use; for most of canon, this is in her past. Despite that, staying clean is an ongoing effort and Alex refrains from drinking or taking even legal drugs. She won't bring it up casually, but it may come up in deeper relationships.
° human trafficking; Alex is an ambassador who travels the world speaking out and trying to raise awareness and concern for the evils of human trafficking. As it's her job and she fights for the topic to be public awareness, it might come up if the situation makes it fit. If the conversation goes much deeper, it might lead to:
°underage sex/sexual abuse/forced prostitution; the reason for her addiction. Alex was sold as a child and forced into prostitution. Her captors caused her to get addicted to drugs and then used them to control her. She doesn't mention it casually, but if it relates to her work or a relationship gets deep enough that this may be a thing, she'll talk about it.
